Stop wasting your time coming up with new ideas and instead get more out of the ideas you already have.
It’s so easy to come up with an idea, create the social media post, publish it, and forget about it. But then you’re back to square one trying to think of something new to post. Over and over and over.
Instead, turn each idea you have into at least four social media posts. If you’re an overachiever, this template will help you turn each idea into seven posts.
Not only will you quickly fill up your social media calendar, but you’ll also position your idea in different ways, appealing to a wider range of customers. And we know that it takes multiple touch points (eight, on average) for a customer to purchase. Which means that customers need to see the same message at least eight times before they purchase your product.
With the help of this blog post, you’ll be halfway there.
Step 1: Come Up with Your Original Idea
You can use this process for any social media post idea. For the sake of this blog post, let’s use an example…let’s say the post idea is all about the four different kinds of adaptogens you use in your products.
Step 2: Turn this Idea into an Instagram Post
Your first step is to turn this idea into an Instagram post. For our example, you’d use a picture of the raw adaptogens, or a picture of your product, and use the caption to share important information about what adaptogens are, why you use the four you do, and how the customer will benefit from them.
Step 3: Turn this Idea into an Instagram Graphic
Now turn this post into an Instagram graphic. Remove the photo (as gorgeous as it is) and use Adobe Creative Suite or Canva to create an eye-catching graphic that highlights the benefits of each adaptogen.
This graphic from Rainbo Mushrooms is one of my favourites, although the social media manager in me recommends using a 1080×1350 size to optimize the content for Instagram.
Step 4: Turn this Idea Into an Instagram Reel Trend
Next you’ll turn your post idea into an Instagram reel trend. Use any trending music like this or this to quickly catch the attention of your target audience. Depending on the trend, you can add your information in the video itself or in the caption.
Step 5: Turn this Idea Into a Long-Form Instagram Reel
And finally, you can turn your post idea into a long-form Instagram reel. This is really just a video where you talk to the camera and share the information in the video. You can always add information on screen or in the caption. The goal of this type of Instagram reel is to speak directly to your customer, share your knowledge, and show who you are and what you’re about.
There you go! You’ve turned one idea into four social media posts. This template will help you go even further, turning each idea into seven different social media posts, and this template will help you keep all of your ideas organized.
